2021 Thanksgiving Food Drive…a great success!

Thank you to all who donated food as well as Food Gift Cards to this year’s Thanksgiving food drive. The donated food and cards were distributed to families in need in the following places:

St. Joseph Patron Church
St. Lucy/St. Patrick Church
St. Kevin Food Pantry
Bayside Baptist Community Church
Christ the King Church, Springfield Gardens

A big thank you to parishioners Kathy Hoag and Edie Miozzi who worked to organize, pack and distribute the food to the above groups who came to pick up the bags of food.


SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE

SAC is an umbrella committee that initiates and maintains programs that serve the parish and the local Bayside community.

The following services are available:

Eucharistic Ministry to Homebound
Resource/Referral Information
Home Visitation
Hospital Visitation
Bereavement Support Group and Individual Counseling
Weekend Meals-on-Wheels (delivered on Fridays for the weekend)
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Food Collection and Distribution
Leisure Club (every other Wednesday from 11 to 3pm)
Senior Wellness Series
Medical Equipment  Support (See below)

The convent is presently housing a number of walkers, Rollators, commodes and wheelchairs. If you or someone you know is in need of these items, please contact Sister Kathleen at 718-224-5695.]

If you are homebound and would like to receive communion, please contact Sister Kathleen (718-224-5695). If you are being admitted to a hospital and wish to receive the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, please call the rectory (718-428-2200).

SACRED HEART PARISH is a community that is concerned with both the spiritual and physical welfare of its members. If you are in need of assistance or know someone who is, please call. We are here to be of service.

SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE

If you know of a parishioner who is homebound due to illness or age, and would like contact with the church, call Sister Kathleen at 224-5695, notify the rectory, or fill out the Homebound Referral Form and place it in the collection basket.
